Marine Electrician

We are hiring a skilled Marine Electrician to service, repair, and install mechanical and electrical systems on outboard and inboard vessels. The role includes engine and electrical diagnostics, maintenance of onboard power and navigation systems, and ensuring all work meets marine safety standards. The technician will also support sea trials and provide on-site technical assistance to customers.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance & Repair

• Conduct routine servicing and preventive maintenance on outboard and inboard marine engines
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Repair and maintain engine electrical systems, including starters, alternators, and charging circuits
• Service and maintain marine generators and inverter systems
• Maintain and repair bilge pumps, onboard lighting, and battery systems
• Perform installation of marine electrical systems including wiring, switchboards, breakers, and electrical panels
• Conduct sea trials and engine performance testing after repairs

2. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

• Use diagnostic tools, software, multimeters, and scan tools to identify faults
• Troubleshoot navigation lights, charging systems, and electrical distribution
• Diagnose and repair issues in navigation electronics such as GPS, sonar, VHF radios, and radar systems
• Analyse root causes of engine and electrical failures and implement corrective actions

3. Safety & Marine Standards

• Ensure all work complies with marine electrical and mechanical safety standards
• Follow best practices for marine environments, considering saltwater exposure, vibration, and corrosion
• Adhere to company SOPs during repairs, installations, and sea trials
• Ensure proper care and handling of tools, equipment, and customer vessels

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare service reports, job cards, and maintenance records accurately
• Document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and parts used
• Communicate technical findings and repair recommendations to customers and internal teams

5. Customer & Field Support

• Provide technical guidance to customers on engine operation, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance
• Support mobile marine service operations at marinas and customer locations

Requirement:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Marine Electrician
