Marine Mechanical engineer /Deputy Manager

  • Project Oversight
  • : Supervise repair and conversion projects for commercial or offshore vessels.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and delegate tasks to supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Ensure repairs align with dry-docking schedules and undocking timelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor work progress onboard and in workshops to meet client specifications and safety standards.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular updates with ship owners regarding repair status and modifications.
  • Documentation: Ensure proper documentation of repair sequences, costs, and completion reports.
  • Training & Development: Identify skill gaps and arrange training for team members.
  • Compliance: Ensure repairs meet class, flag, and regulatory requirements.

*Shipyard experience required.
* Ship repairing and building experience required
*Supervise day-to-day mechanical works such as fitting, assembly, repairs, and testing of equipment.

  • Allocate tasks to technicians, fitters, and helpers ensuring effective use of manpower.
  • Oversee ship repair / refit / newbuilding mechanical activities (pumps, engines, piping, HVAC, hydraulics, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Monitor job progress, inspect quality of work, and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Coordinate with engineers, planners, and other departments for smooth execution of projects.
  • Maintain records of manpower deployment, materials used, and job completion reports.
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of tools, equipment, and worksite discipline.
