Marine Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan, execute, and manage marine projects (e.g., ports, offshore structures, dredging, shipbuilding, marine construction).
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Manage procurement of marine equipment, vessels, and materials.
  • Oversee offshore/on-site operations and ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies.
  • Prepare and present project reports, updates, and documentation to stakeholders.
  • Handle contract management, including claims, variations, and negotiations.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.



Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Marine / Coastal Engineering preferred) – Mandatory

• Master’s degree in Project Management or relevant field – Preferred


Other Important Requirements / Remarks

• Mandatory experience in marine/coastal/infrastructure projects (ports, marinas, waterfront developments)

• Strong knowledge of marine construction methods (piling, dredging, quay walls, breakwaters, etc.)

• Experience in managing marine contractors and specialized subcontractors

• Familiarity with marine regulations, environmental constraints, and authority approvals

• Preferably worked with reputable PMC/Consultants (e.g., AECOM, Parsons, Dar)

• Experience in large-scale / mega marine projects is required

• Strong stakeholder and authority management skills
