Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related discipline.
- Certified Internal Auditor for ISM, ISPS, and MLC 2006 (recognized training provider).
- 2–3 years’ experience in maritime compliance, flag administration, or fleet operations support.
- Solid understanding of international maritime regulations and certification processes.
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively with vessels, flag states, and external bodies.
Tasks:
- Administer certification arrangements with flag states and recognized organizations.
- Assist vessel command teams during audits and statutory certification processes.
- Perform onboard or remote surveys, inspections, and compliance checks when required.
- Monitor regulatory updates and provide insights on maritime legal developments.
- Report vessel incidents to flag administrations in accordance with procedures.
- Evaluate and document Minimum Safe Manning compliance.
- Maintain and track validity of statutory and flag-related certificates.
- Support vessels with official documentation and regulatory submissions.
- Contribute to updates of safety, security, and labor compliance documentation.
- Coordinate flag inspections and Port State Control readiness and follow-up.
- Maintain structured records and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
- Conduct ISM/ISPS internal audits and MLC inspections as per plan or as assigned.
- Verify compliance with flag state and international regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and distribute clear audit and inspection reports within deadlines.
- Raise findings and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure timely closure of findings, including escalation when necessary.
- Assess the effectiveness of corrective measures implemented.
- Update internal compliance and monitoring systems with audit data.
