Job Summary:
The Market Advisor is a trusted partner to mid-market cattle feeders—someone who brings clarity and consistency to marketing decisions in both cattle and grain. This role exists to help customers understand their true cattle position, apply Balance4ward’s proven 5-Step Strategy, and confidently execute a repeatable, profit-driven marketing plan.
This is a relationship-driven advisory position focused on coaching, analysis, and process discipline. This is not a sales role. Customers are brought to you by the Balance4ward sales team.
Location On-Site: Omaha, NE
Responsibilities:

Guide customers through Balance4ward’s 5-Step Strategy, ensuring weekly updates to their market orders

Deliver the “Weekly Packet,” helping customers interpret market insights and apply recommendations across both cattle and grain

Facilitate customer futures orders and fills with accuracy and urgency

Lead and manage weekly customer calls, ensuring they are organized, timely, and aligned with each customer’s marketing plan

Develop clear, well-researched, and concise recommendations for inclusion in the Weekly Packet

Maintain accurate customer cattle positions, contributing to a consistent, repeatable marketing process

Build trust and foster long-term relationships grounded in clarity, confidence, and disciplined execution
The Ideal Candidate:

Understands and appreciates the mid-market segment of the cattle feeding industry. Agrees that mid-market cattlemen cannot build wealth hedging a profit

Knowledge of and experience trading multiple commodity markets

Understands how to generate profits in a highly leveraged, margin-based business

Enjoys coaching and helping people with cattle and grain marketing strategies

A humble decision maker that can be bold, while also being able to accept being wrong

Has a patient, flexible and adaptable working style. This allows for productive conversations with all customers, regardless of their experience level with futures trading and cash marketing

Desire to be proactive and take risk trading the trend rather than as a traditional risk manager

Sees value in following process, versus flying by the seat of their pants

Driven by the details of accurate position tracking, creating a competitive advantage for the customer
Qualifications:

Series 3 license not required at hire, but candidate must be willing to obtain it

Bachelor’s degree in business, ag business, economics, animal science, or a related field

Experience in livestock or cattle feeding industry required

Ability to travel to customer locations regularly

Ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with clients
