Proof Bread in is looking for a friendly face to represent our brand at farmers markets around the East Valley. We're looking for people who want to work every Saturday morning consistently. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Proof Bread, confident, and customer service oriented. This is a part-time role, taking place once/twice a week on Saturday and/or Sunday. Our current market locations are Uptown Phoenix, Downtown Phoenix, Gilbert, and Old Town Scottsdale. We are currently looking to fill positions at the Gilbert Farmer's Market.


Role Description
:

This is an entry-level sales position on the Proof Market Team.

A Market Staff member creates the customer experience at their weekly farmer's market. A Market Staff member represents the brand and our core values, while performing the operational objectives of setting up a market booth and display and following proper food-handling procedures while serving our customers.


Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Utilize a Square POS system
  • Package pastry to order
  • Bag customer orders quickly and accurately
  • Set up and maintain market booth display with superior aesthetics and cleanliness
  • Deliver personalized and genuine customer service
  • Communicate product and business information with customers as necessary
  • Return the valuable items, cash box and technologies, back to the bakery if necessary
  • Deliver, or make up a preorder, should it become necessary
  • Receive relevant communications from Bakery Staff regarding weekly updates, etc.
  • Attend occasional customer service and/or sales training event hosted by Leadership team
  • Communicate relevant information to Market Lead and/or Leadership within a reasonable time


Prerequisites and Requirements:

  • Must employ proper food safety procedures
  • Produce a valid ID and food handling certification
  • Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours
  • Arrives to market well-groomed and wearing approved attire
  • Ability to work outdoors with unregulated temperatures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from the ground to waist height
  • Ability to extend workday to complete necessary tasks as needed
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Work well solo or with a partner
  • Solve problems efficiently and ask questions when in doubt
  • Ability to successfully set up pop-up tent canopies without assistance
  • Must obtain thorough product knowledge of Proof’s core menu


Position Specifics
:

  • Part-time position
  • Compensation begins at $15 hourly plus tip share (additional $2-$4/hour, depending on the season)
  • Position hours are Saturdays from 6am-2pm with flex opportunities within our retail bakeries
  • Opportunity to pick up open shifts as needed
  • Shift begins with setting up before the market and ends when cleanup and breakdown are completed. Set up usually takes 30-60 minutes and breakdown usually takes about 30 minutes.
  • Time off should be requested two weeks prior to planned absence
