Marketing and Communications Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our Marketing and Communications team. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for executing marketing and communications projects for a variety of audiences. This position works on assignments with the Marketing & Communications team. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator also works with JFS program staff; donors; volunteers; vendors; and community partners.

This position is currently hybrid and requires at least one day a week at the Seattle office and occasional travel to the Kent office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports planning, scheduling, and coordination of donor facing materials including direct mail appeals, acknowledgements, donor updates and cases for support.

Collaborates with M&C Manager and Graphic Designer/Web Developer on the design, development and distribution of digital and print collateral and promotional materials including: one-pagers, flyers, Report to the Community, Year in Review, invitations, posters, stickers.

Supports marketing & external and internal communications for events including Jewish community events, donor-facing events, and broader community events.

Populates client story and quote bank.

Supports the Marketing & Communications Manager with program- and department-specific communications.

Coordinates with overall process for direct mailings and maintains on-site promotional displays.

Collaborates with program colleagues to create monthly Program Updates and posts to internal communications channel including Teams and email.

Project Management - Asana

  • Project manages collateral for Food Drive & Sort; and in partnership with Special Events Director for Community of Caring Luncheon and other major donor and community facing events.
  • Works closely with Director of Special Events to project manage marketing and communications related to the Community of Caring Luncheon, our largest fundraising event of the year.
  • Manages, tracks and archives all collateral, promotional materials and press using Asana
  • Maintains M&C projects using Asana software, including communications calendar, tasks, and deadlines with support of the M&C Manager.

Social Media & Digital Communications

  • Plans, designs, and publishes timely and relevant social media content including maintaining social media profiles
  • Drafts content for story-focused, monthly eNews, and volunteer emails.
  • Collaborates with M&C Manager on blog content including program blog posts, CEO posts, writing blog posts.
  • Collaborates with program colleagues on the creative direction, shooting, and editing of video content for social media with support from Marketing & Communications Manager.
  • Stays up to date on current social media and SEO software, trends, and opportunities.
  • Sets regular goals for engagement, visibility and reach on social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • In partnership with Graphic Designer/Web Developer, tracks key metrics for digital marketing (including emails and paid ads).
  • Creates, develops and executes high-impact social media campaigns that raise awareness, increase engagement and support fundraising and participation goals.
  • Works with M&C and Program staff to promote events via paid media including social media and other online advertising.
  • Manages editorial calendar for social media content; reviews editorial calendar regularly and shares story ideas and opportunities with M&C team.
  • In collaboration with Marketing & Communications Manager, coordinates web updates with the Web Developer.

Other duties as assigned:

  • Tabling at outreach events when needed
  • Coordinates scheduling with filmmakers and attends shoots
  • Manages tools including Canva, Hootsuite and Linktree

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum two years of paid professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, public affairs, or journalism. Experience with successful marketing campaigns.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field OR a combination of Associate’s degree and relevant work experience. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to meet competing deadlines.
  • Familiarity with creating compelling content for SEO and social media.
  • Strong written communication and proofreading skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail; strong organizational skills. Excellent customer service skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, EveryAction or other email marketing tools, WordPress, and social media software (Lately, Hootsuite, etc.).
  • Experience with Asana or other project management software required.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The pay for this position is $30.26 - $36.98 an hour.
