CCAS is seeking a Marketing Associate (Independent Contractor) who can use their marketing and creative talents to help animals find loving homes, increase community awareness about the work of animal services, and tell the story of the dedicated people and animals at CCAS.

About the Role
The Marketing Associate will help expand CCAS’s ability to market adoptable and transferable animals, build engagement across social media platforms, and highlight the department’s programs, services, and community impact.
The ideal candidate understands the unique marketing opportunities and challenges faced by municipal animal shelters, has experience developing and executing social media strategies across multiple platforms, and brings strong creativity, attention to detail, and a genuine love for animals.
You will work closely with the CCAS Public Information Officer, interacting with animals, staff, and volunteers to create compelling digital content that inspires adoptions and community engagement.
Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Social Media Marketing
· Interacting with CCAS animals, staff, and volunteers to develop compelling content for social media and other relevant platforms that raise awareness about CCAS, the animals in our care, and the work we do.
· Photographing and recording videos of CCAS animals, staff, and volunteers for use in social media posting.
· Designing graphics, flyers, and other promotional materials to be disseminated publicly.
· Marketing CCAS animals, staff, volunteers, and programs through the department’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, and Nextdoor).
· Working with department’s Public Information Officer to develop compelling videos and other content that adequately tells the stories of our department, programs, staff/volunteers, and the animals in our care.
Marketing Logistics and Analysis
· Working with department staff and volunteers to identify compelling stories that we can share on our social media and other platforms.
· Tracking and analyzing the effectiveness of the department’s social media platforms, content, and impact.
· Assisting with event planning as it relates to marketing and any collateral materials related to events and programs.
· Assisting the department’s Public Information Officer with placement of print, television, radio and online advertisements.
Skills Desired
· A content creator that is skilled in the use of various social media platforms, particularly Facebook, Instagram, X, and Youtube.
· Ability to take good photographs and tell stories through imagery.
· Ability to record and edit quality videos using phones, cameras, and other relevant equipment.
· Proficiency in graphic design platforms (Canva, Adobe, etc.)
· A skilled storyteller who can communicate complex or nuanced issues to various audiences in practical terms.
Salary: Based on Experience
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
