Marketing Automation Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW
Bisk is looking for a hands-on Marketing Automation Specialist to join our growing enrollment marketing team. Reporting directly to the Marketing Automation Manager, you will own the day-to-day execution of full-funnel digital journeys for Bisk's online degree programs — from crafting compelling email content and SMS sequences to building, testing, and continuously optimizing HubSpot workflows.
You will operate within an established strategy and martech stack, with clear guidance from your manager, while having genuine ownership over quality, deliverability, and performance of every automated
touchpoint. This is a builder's role: you will spend meaningful time inside HubSpot every day, collaborating closely with our admissions and sales team to ensure the right message reaches the right prospective student at exactly the right moment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Email Content Creation & Management
  • Write, edit, and QA email copy for all funnel stages — Awareness, Consideration, Intent, Re-engagement, and Enrolled Nurture — with a consistent, on-brand voice aligned to Bisk's style guide.
  • Leverage AI-assisted copy tools (e.g., Breeze, Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate first-draft production and persona-level content variants, then refine for accuracy, tone, and compliance.
  • Build and maintain all email templates in HubSpot using drag-and-drop and/or HTML/CSS, ensuring mobile-responsive rendering.
  • Configure HubSpot dynamic content blocks to deliver persona-specific messaging within a single send.
  • Manage a recurring email content calendar aligned to enrollment cycles and campaign launches.
Journey Building & Automation
  • Construct and maintain automated multi-step workflows in HubSpot covering email, SMS, and triggered call-task creation across the full student enrollment journey.
  • Build and manage contact segmentation lists, enrollment criteria, suppression logic, and workflow branching based on persona, lifecycle stage, and behavioral signals.
  • Configure lead scoring models and manage lifecycle stage transitions (MQL SQL
  • Enrolled) in HubSpot to ensure clean handoff to the admissions team.
  • Set up and maintain HubSpot Breeze AI features to accelerate workflow suggestions, content personalization, and predictive engagement scoring as the platform evolves.
SMS & Multi-Channel Execution
  • Write and manage SMS copy sequences integrated into HubSpot workflows via Twilio, Salesmsg, or equivalent — ensuring TCPA-compliant opt-in/opt-out handling.
  • Coordinate with IT to maintain SMS and phone integration health, troubleshoot delivery issues, and ensure all activity is logged accurately on the HubSpot contact record.
  • Support configuration of triggered outbound call tasks for the admissions team, including call script alignment and outcome-logging workflows.
Retargeting Coordination
  • Collaborate with the paid media team to sync HubSpot contact lists with retargeting audiences across Google Display, Meta, and LinkedIn for coordinated re-engagement campaigns.
  • Ensure HubSpot tracking pixels and UTM parameters are correctly configured and passing to support closed-loop attribution reporting.

CMS Data, Testing & Optimization
  • Co-own audience definition, segmentation, and data-backed optimization recommendations across programs, audiences, and funnel stages.
  • Own deliverability monitoring — including sender reputation, bounce rates, and inbox placement — and take corrective action as needed.
  • Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests on subject lines, email content, send times, and SMS copy to drive continuous stage-to-stage velocity, re-engagement, and retention.
  • Conduct regular workflow audits to identify gaps, timing issues, or audience overlap problems, and implement fixes proactively.
  • Build and maintain HubSpot reporting dashboards to track email, SMS, and workflow KPIs; surface insights to the Sr. Manager weekly.
.Sales Team Collaboration
  • Partner with the admissions team to align automated touchpoints with the rep-led follow-up cadence, preventing duplicate or conflicting outreach.
  • Support configuration of HubSpot sales sequences and task queues for admissions reps and provide training on contact record best practices.
  • Participate in regular MQL quality reviews with Sales to calibrate lead scoring and continuously improve lead handoff quality.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field — or equivalent demonstrable professional experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on marketing automation experience, building and managing workflows in HubSpot (Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise).
  • HubSpot Marketing Software Certification required; additional HubSpot certifications strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to independently write clean, conversion-focused email copy from brief to first draft.
  • Solid understanding of email deliverability fundamentals: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, sender reputation, list hygiene, and CAN-SPAM compliance.
  • Experience with TCPA-compliant SMS marketing — opt-in capture, opt-out management, and message frequency best practices.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS sufficient to troubleshoot and edit email templates; full-stack development is not required.
  • Comfortable working with data: list segmentation logic, UTM parameters, attribution models, and basic dashboard-level reporting.
  • Experience collaborating with a sales or admissions team in a CRM-driven environment.

PREFERRED
  • Experience with HubSpot Breeze AI features.
  • Familiarity with SMS platforms such as Twilio, Salesmsg, or SimpleTexting and their HubSpot integrations.
  • Experience with retargeting audience sync between HubSpot and paid media platforms.
  • Prior experience in higher education, EdTech, or a B2C lead-generation environment.
  • Exposure to AI copy generation tools used in a professional content workflow.
  • Google Analytics 4 familiarity and experience connecting GA4 data to HubSpot attribution.
