Job Summary: The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will assist the Vice President, Communications & Brand Strategy in all needs for the Association. This full-time position offers experience in writing, copy editing, social media management, e-communications, website development, graphic design, event support and more. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will play an integral role in the everyday responsibilities of the department.
Essential Job Functions:
- Create and distribute all e-communications
- Assist in marketing association events
- Produce engaging content and features for publications and social media
- Maintain a communications calendar for the association
- Project manage the creation and distribution of The MRLA Magazine
- Compile industry-related news articles and content to use for weekly association communications
- Create and implement marketing campaigns as directed
- Collaborates with Vice President, Communications & Brand Strategy to create and implement new marketing strategies for recruitment and retention of members
- Develop social media campaigns and content to numerous social media accounts (including but not limited to X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Consistently update website content across all entities
- Support in the creation of media materials such as press releases and media alerts
- Maintain media lists and overall metric reporting
- Onsite support for events – requires flexibility in hours and some travel
- Coordinate the fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables for all entities
- Serve as a liaison for Women in Hospitality Leadership by assisting with event implementation, communication and organization with statewide Chapters
- Other needs as assigned by the Vice President, Communications & Brand Strategy
Qualifications:
- Degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or similar category
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-starting independence with ability to work in a team setting
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
- Graphic design experience welcomed
Hybrid Work: This role requires 3 in-office days at the MRLA office in downtown Lansing with 2 remote work from home days permitted.
