Marketing Consultant

The Midtown Group is a leading staffing based in DC seeking and we are urgently seeking a junior marketing professional to support a high-priority, four-week campaign.


The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, creative, and proficient with Canva and other related technologies. This assignment offers competitive pay (commensurate with experience), a completion bonus, and potential for ongoing opportunities.


About the Role


Position: Marketing Consultant (Junior Level)


Focus: Develop and refresh customized high-end marketing materials for both reactivating prior clients and targeting new organizations within specialized industries (private equity, education technology, law firms, cleaner energy / renewables, and other tech-driven organizations).


Duration: At least 4 weeks, with the possibility of extension or a longer-term engagement based on performance.


Location: Onsite in DC with some flexibility for occasional remote work.


Target Industries and Audience Focus


Private Equity: Craft materials that emphasize scalable staffing solutions, portfolio company synergies, and swift deployment capabilities. Highlight metrics that matter to PE buyers (cost efficiency, time-to-fill, talent pipeline strength).


Education Technology (EdTech): Emphasize compliance, security, and ability to support rapid growth, pilot programs, and program launches. Highlight outcomes like reduced time-to-hire and specialized education tech talent.


Law Firms: Prioritize risk management, confidentiality, and high-caliber, billable-hour efficiency. Focus on experienced contract staff, paralegal support, and niche legal tech roles.


Tech-Driven Organizations: Showcase agility, innovation partnerships, and scalable teams for product development, R&D, and go-to-market initiatives. Stress reliability, data security, and technical competency.


Key Responsibilities


Create and refresh marketing collateral** tailored to each target audience using Canva:

Slides, one-pagers, case studies, email templates, social media graphics, and outreach documents.

Reactivate old clients by producing persuasive, personalized materials that highlight relevant staffing solutions and success stories.

Target new organizations by researching industries, crafting value propositions, and developing outreach-ready documents.

Maintain brand consistency across all materials while allowing for customization by segment.

Collaborate with leadership to understand client industries, pain points, and hiring needs.

Track and report basic campaign engagement (opens, responses, and downloads) and iterate materials accordingly.

Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Provide feedback and suggestions to improve overall marketing approach and efficiency.


Required Qualifications


Experience Level: Junior-level marketing or communications professional.


Canva Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to design and refresh materials quickly and professionally.


Written Communication: Strong copywriting and editing skills, with attention to tone, clarity, and personalization.


Industry Understanding: Ability to tailor messaging from a boutique staffing firm for private equity, EdTech, law firms, and tech-driven organizations.


Research Skills: Ability to gather insights on target industries and adapt messaging accordingly.


Project Management: Ability to manage multiple materials and deadlines concurrently while tracking results and juggling priorities.


Collaboration: Comfortable working with a close-knit team and taking direction.


Optional but Beneficial:

Basic understanding of B2B marketing and recruitment/staffing industry dynamics.

Prior experience in creating executive summaries or client-facing documents.


Deliverables


Customized marketing collateral for at least:

10-15 client reactivation packages (per industry or client segment)

10-15 outreach packages for target organizations (per segment)

A concise 1-page overview or pitch sheet summarizing services, value proposition, and differentiators.

Email templates and subject lines tailored to different segments.

A short, data-driven feedback document describing what materials performed best and suggested refinements.


Success Metrics

Timely delivery of all materials within the 4-week window.

Quality and consistency of branding across all assets.

Level of customization and relevance by target segment.

Positive feedback from leadership and observable engagement signals (e.g., responses, inquiries).
