POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Coordinator supports the implementation and management of marketing strategies to increase the organization’s visibility, engage supporters, and drive program participation and fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who has ultimate responsibility for strategic marketing matters, the role develops compelling multi-platform content, ensures all marketing initiatives align with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives, and supports the CEO in achieving the organization’s marketing goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in developing, and administer the execution of a marketing and communications plan aligned with the organization’s strategic goals. Implement approved marketing strategies across content, email, social media, SEO, and advertising.
- Oversee the organization’s website, including maintenance, optimization, and updates to ensure maximum engagement and proper functionality and performance.
- Recommend and administer plans that promote and support events, programs, and fundraising and donor engagement efforts. Perform as photographer and videographer when needed.
- Oversee social media channels, strategy and execution across relevant platforms to increase audience engagement and grow the organization’s reach.
- Produce high-quality digital and social content, including graphics and other multi-media. Create and distribute external communications, including newsletters, press releases, annual reports, and promotional materials. Collaborate with program staff to highlight impact stories and develop compelling content.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and communications activities and provide regular analytics reports. Ensure compliance with branding and accessibility standards. Ensure consistent application of brand guidelines across all channels and materials.
- Assist in managing marketing and communications budgets, contractors, and vendors as needed. Perform basic media outreach and coordination as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience
- 1- 3 years of digital marketing experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Experience with Content Management System (CMS) platforms, design tools, and marketing automation.
- Experience developing content for digital platforms, media use, and organizational storytelling.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Solid understanding of SEO, social media, CRM, email marketing, and analytics software and other tools. Knowledge of Salsa and Buffer are a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and storytelling skills with demonstrated ability to create compelling and mission-aligned content.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of design principles and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office, G-Suite, and similar office systems required.
- Passion for nonprofit missions and community empowerment impact.
- Experience working with diverse communities preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external partners.
Other Requirements
- Ability to achieve working proficiency in new responsibilities, tools, and subject areas within a short learning curve to support timely, high-quality program delivery.
- Be responsive to internal texts and emails (i.e., respond within 2 hours during business hours, and before 9 am of the next business day after business hours). Maintain and share up-to-date online calendar information.
- Expected to attend all events designated as MBMHMC major events
- May be expected to work weekends (Saturdays and/or Sundays) and evenings, particularly to support or attend events and core initiatives.
- Able to travel locally as needed for events and outreach.
- Able to bend, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
