Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary

The Marketing Coordinator supports the execution of marketing initiatives that elevate brand awareness, drive attendance, grow audience engagement, and advance the shared purpose of The Florida Aquarium (TFA). This role assists with the coordination of campaigns, content development, promotions, partnerships, and day-to-day marketing operations across a variety of channels.

Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, the Marketing Coordinator helps ensure marketing projects are delivered on time, on brand, and aligned with organizational goals. This position is ideal for a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented professional who is excited to contribute to a dynamic, mission-driven environment focused on conservation, education, and guest experience.

Essential Position Functions

  • Support the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, promotions, events, and attendance- or revenue-driving initiatives.
  • Coordinate marketing workflows, calendars, creative timelines, project plans, and task tracking to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, creative partners, agencies, and external vendors to manage campaign assets, deliverables, approvals, and quality assurance.
  • Build, schedule, and deploy email campaigns in collaboration with the marketing & communications team, including audience segmentation, list management, A/B testing, and performance tracking.
  • Update and maintain website content in WordPress, including page edits, asset uploads, and publishing support. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content is current, on-brand, and optimized for search.
  • Manage and organize marketing assets, including logos, templates, photography, and work collaboratively with videographer on other assets such as video and b-roll, to ensure files are current, accessible, and brand compliant.
  • Execute quality assurance checks across marketing materials and digital content and implement minor creative or content updates as needed to support campaign execution.
  • Support paid media and SEO/SEM efforts, including coordinating asset trafficking, monitoring campaign performance, and flagging optimization opportunities.
  • Track campaign performance across email, websites, paid media, social media, and other marketing channels; compile recurring reports and dashboards; and share insights to support optimization.
  • Assist with market research, audience insights, trend monitoring, and the identification of partnership or promotional opportunities.
  • Maintain inbound correspondence for general marketing email accounts and route requests as needed.
  • Process invoices, including routing signatures for agency and vendor billings, maintaining vendor documentation, and tracking invoices through payment.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support for the marketing team, including maintaining shared files, documentation, and internal processes.
  • Maintain a current understanding of the organization, its offerings, and target audiences to support effective marketing execution.
  • Assist with additional marketing and departmental responsibilities as assigned.
  • Supports TFA’s Shared Purpose by participating in a Conservation Day of Action shift on an annual basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements and Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • Two to four years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of integrated marketing principles across digital and traditional channels, including email, website, social media, SEO/SEM, promotions, and paid media.
  • Experience supporting the execution of marketing campaigns and coordinating content, timelines, approvals, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment; must be self-directed and able to work independently when needed.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms, content management systems, project management tools, and social media platforms; experience with WordPress, Marketing Cloud, and Asana preferred.
  • Experience using marketing analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics 4 and Meta analytics to track performance and support optimization; familiarity with A/B testing and multivariate experimentation preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to brand consistency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and interact professionally with internal stakeholders, external partners, agencies, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, common digital marketing platforms, and design tools; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
