Marketing & Events Manager

Summary:
The Marketing & Events Manager is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that advance the organization’s brand, visibility, and engagement. This role exercises independent judgment and discretion in planning messaging, managing digital platforms, and overseeing event strategy and execution.

The position leads content development and manages the Club’s social media presence and supports event planning initiatives with the Director of Catering.

This role plays a key leadership function in planning Member and private events, managing the Club’s digital platforms, and driving consistent, high-quality communication with Members. The position requires strong organizational skills, independent decision-making, and a hands-on presence during events.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Draft and oversee high-level messaging including press releases, executive communications, marketing campaigns, and stakeholder updates.
  • Serve as brand steward, ensuring consistency across platforms and materials.
  • Advise leadership on public-facing communications and reputation management.
  • Manage media outreach and external communications relationships.

Social Media & Communications:

  • Manage and coordinate internal communications and content development between the leadership team and the newsletter creator through a shared media platform and ongoing collaboration with leadership
  • Lead editor for Club newsletter
  • Create and send weekly email and standalone emails to Membership while maintaining the Club’s brand and standards
  • Develop and execute a social media content plan that supports club events, dining, and amenities
  • Own content creation, scheduling, and posting across social media platformswhile maintaining the Club’s brand and standards
  • Monitor engagement and respond to member inquiries in a professional and timely manner

Website & Event Registration:

  • Own the management and regular updating of the Club website, including event listings, menus, calendars, and announcements
  • Oversee online event registration systems, ticketing platforms, and guest list management
  • Ensure accuracy, branding consistency, and timely communication across all digital and printed Club event materials
  • Track Club event performance, attendance, and engagement through surveys

Event & Catering Management:

  • Manage the planning and execution of private and Club events in collaboration with the Catering Director
  • Oversee event logistics including contracts, BEOs, timelines, and event documentation
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients and members throughout the event lifecycle
  • Coordinate event details with Food & Beverage, Clubhouse operations, and service teams
  • Supervise event setup, execution, and breakdown to ensure service standards are met
  • Update catering menus and brochure packets
  • Create themed printed menus and signage for private and club events

Leadership & Administration

  • Provide day-to-day leadership for event-related administrative functions
  • Establish systems and best practices for event documentation and communication
  • Support the Catering Director with planning and special projects
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align communications with strategic priorities.
  • Provide communications guidance to staff and leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in events, communications, marketing, social media management, or public relations, preferably in hospitality, clubs, or a similar industry.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with knowledge of AP or Chicago style.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in design and marketing tools, such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with members and staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
