Marketing Specialist

MITC is looking for a new Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing Team!

Position Overview

MITC Software is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Marketing Specialist to join our team in Frederick, MD. This role will focus heavily on email marketing using Mailchimp and managing and optimizing our company website built on WordPress. The ideal candidate is both analytical and creative, enjoys working hands-on with digital tools, and is excited to help shape how we communicate.

Key Responsibilities

Email Marketing (Primary Focus)

  • Plan, create, and execute email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp
  • Design and build email templates aligned with brand guidelines
  • Segment audiences and manage subscriber lists
  • Monitor performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions)
  • Ensure compliance with email marketing best practices

Website Management (WordPress)

  • Maintain and update the MITC Software website using WordPress
  • Create and edit landing pages, and marketing content
  • Collaborate with internal teams to keep content accurate and up to date
  • Implement SEO best practices to improve visibility and performance
  • Troubleshoot basic site issues and coordinate with developers when needed

Additional Marketing Support

  • Assist with marketing campaigns, product launches, and promotional initiatives
  • Support branding and messaging consistency across channels
  • Collaborate with sales and leadership teams on marketing strategy
  • Keep data in MITC’s CRM up to date

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field preferred
  • Entry level applicants welcome! Extensive training is provided
  • Hands-on experience with Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms
  • Experience managing websites using WordPress
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS is a plus
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Familiarity with SEO and digital marketing best practices
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Logistics & Hybrid Schedule

At MITC, we support a flexible, hybrid work environment that empowers our team members to do their best work— at home or in the office.

  • Most roles, including this one, follow a hybrid schedule, combining remote work with in-office collaboration as needed.
  • This role requires 3 days per week in office. During the first 6 months, in-office requirements may be higher. Once trained, the in-office requirements may be reduced.
  • Employees may choose to work in office full time if preferred.
  • Equipment: Laptop, mobile phone, and all necessary equipment provided by MITC.

Compensation:

  • $40,000-$60,000 salary + benefits package
  • MITC benefits package value $5,000 including $1,000 HSA company contribution, 100% company paid medical premium, and a 401K match.
