Job Summary

The Mason is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures and surfaces made of brick, block, stone, or concrete. The role involves reading blueprints, preparing materials, and ensuring work is completed according to specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stones, or other masonry units to construct or repair walls, floors, partitions, arches, and other structures.
  • Mix and apply mortar, cement, or other bonding materials.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and plans.
  • Measure and cut materials to ensure proper fit and alignment.
  • Finish surfaces by cleaning, polishing, or applying protective coatings.
  • Repair and maintain existing masonry work, including patching cracks or replacing damaged sections.
  • Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and structural standards.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools such as trowels, levels, mixers, and saws.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and other construction workers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as a mason or similar role in construction.
  • Knowledge of masonry techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings.
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Awareness of safety regulations and procedures.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational training or certification in masonry is an advantage.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 25–50 kg).
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month

Expected hours: No less than 48 per week
