OVERVIEW: The Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to our members and their guests. They must be proficient in numerous massage modalities, including body treatments, Swedish, deep tissue and chair massage and be able to train in our Spa’s specific menu offerings. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide well-being solutions to meet the needs of our guests. They must hold and maintain a current Florida state license. Boca West Country Club believes in Country Club life reimagined! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be on time for your shift, which is a minimum of 15 and up to 30 minutes prior to your first appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
  • Be able to perform, or willing to train in assisted stretching services.
  • Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with Spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
  • Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific wellness concerns.
  • Be able to adjust treatments based on any health concerns, allergies, injuries, medications, contraindications, etc.
  • Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the Spa. Including Holiday’s, Weekend’s, and opening or closing shifts.
  • Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of products to assist with cost controls.
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the Spa’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required. Assist in any and all ways including but not limited to side, opening and closing duties, as asked by the Spa Supervisor and Spa Manager.
  • Communicate to manage all occurrences involving staff or guests in the Spa that require attention.
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
  • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests.
  • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the Spa.
  • Assist in all areas of Spa operation as requested by management.
  • Communicate to management all occurrences involving staff or guests in the Spa that require attention.
  • Able to assist in any Member Events including (but not limited to) Fun Run’s, Member Events, Pop Up Shops, Trunk Shows and services in our Outdoor Spa Garden, Fitness Center or Aquatics Center as asked by management

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced modalities included but not limited to; hot stone massage, ayurvedic treatments, Thai massage, pregnancy massage, lymphatic massage and advanced reflexology.
  • Dual Therapist (Aesthetician) highly preferred.
  • Must hold and maintain a current Florida state license.
  • Must hold or be willing to train for First Aide/CPR certification.
  • Preferred 3 – 5 years working in a luxury Spa environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to a minimum of 5 pounds.
  • Must be willing to perform Swedish and deep tissue and chair massage as well as basic body treatments.

Shift Requirements – Spa Operating Hours are currently 9:00am – 7:00pm Monday through Thursday and 9:00am – 6:00pm Friday through Sunday (these hours may change at any time)


§ Full Time –

o At least 30 hours a week, depending on season and to maintain benefits.

o 4 – 5 shifts per week, ranging from 6 to 8 hour shifts.

o At least 2 shifts being weekend days, which include Friday, Saturday and or Sunday.

§ Part Time –

o Required hours range from 12 – 30 per week, depending on season.

o Minimum of 2 shifts per week, ranging from 6 – 8 hour shifts.

o One shift must be a weekend day, which includes Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

§ On-call positions and shifts may be available based on season and schedule needs.

§ The Spa at Boca West also has blackout dates, where not time off is permitted.
