Role Overview
The specialist ensures that the overall vision of a master plan is translated into detailed design and development strategies. They bridge the gap between conceptual master planning and practical implementation, making sure projects align with regulatory requirements, sustainability goals, and stakeholder needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Master Planning & Urban Design
- Contribute to large-scale urban development plans, zoning layouts, and land-use strategies.
- Ensure designs align with environmental, cultural, and social contexts.
- Design Development
- Translate high-level concepts into detailed site layouts, circulation networks, public spaces, and infrastructure plans.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and landscape designers to refine plans.
- Regulatory & Compliance
- Review local authority regulations, building codes, and environmental impact studies.
- Ensure plans comply with urban development guidelines.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with government entities, consultants, and community representatives.
- Facilitate presentations, workshops, and design reviews.
- Technical Analysis
- Conduct feasibility studies (traffic, infrastructure, environmental impact).
- Use planning and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, InDesign, SketchUp, etc.).
- Sustainability Integration
- Incorporate smart city concepts, green infrastructure, and climate resilience into master plans.
Requirements
- 10 plus years of experience
- UPDA
- Degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Urban Design.
