Job Summary
TheMaster Planner is responsible for leading and preparing master planning studiesand development frameworks for urban, residential, mixed-use, infrastructure,and community projects. The role involves translating client requirements intopractical, well-coordinated, and sustainable planning solutions, while ensuringcompliance with applicable regulations, design standards, and authorityrequirements in the UAE.
TheMaster Planner shall work closely with architects, urban designers, engineers,landscape architects, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to developintegrated and buildable planning concepts from inception through detailedplanning stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead thepreparation of master plans, land use plans, zoning layouts, developmentframeworks, and planning reports for a range of projects.
- Develop siteplanning strategies that address circulation, access, mobility, land useefficiency, public realm, infrastructure integration, and futureexpansion.
- Coordinate witharchitecture, landscape, roads, utilities, transportation, andinfrastructure teams to ensure an integrated planning approach.
- Review clientbriefs, site constraints, applicable regulations, and project objectivesto develop viable planning options.
- Prepare conceptplanning deliverables including site analysis, area statements,development controls, phasing plans, and design narratives.
- Ensure planningproposals align with local authority requirements, urban designguidelines, and project-specific development regulations.
- Participate inmeetings with clients, authorities, and stakeholders to present planningconcepts and obtain feedback.
- Support thepreparation of technical submissions, reports, and presentation materialsfor project approvals and client reviews.
- Review andcoordinate planning-related inputs from subconsultants and specialistdisciplines.
- Contribute tofeasibility studies, vision plans, and strategic planning exercises whererequired.
- Monitor planningdeliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and timely submission.
- Provide technicalguidance to junior planners and support internal team development.
Key Duties in ProjectDelivery
- Conduct siteanalysis and planning assessments.
- Prepare conceptand detailed master planning layouts.
- Develop land usedistribution and urban structure plans.
- Coordinate plotlayouts, road hierarchy, access strategy, and utility corridorintegration.
- Assist inauthority submissions and respond to review comments.
- Support projectmanagers in planning schedules, client coordination, and designmanagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degreein Urban Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degreein Urban Planning or Urban Design is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 yearsof relevant experience in master planning, urban planning, or large-scaledevelopment planning.
- UAE or GCCexperience is highly preferred.
- Experience inresidential, mixed-use, infrastructure, or public sector developments isan advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Strongunderstanding of master planning principles, urban development frameworks,and land use planning.
- Good knowledge ofUAE planning regulations and authority submission processes.
- Strongcoordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability toprepare planning reports, presentations, and technical narratives.
- Good designawareness and understanding of buildability and infrastructurecoordination.
