Job Summary

One of the leading companies in Qatar is seeking a skilled and experienced Master Tailor to oversee tailoring operations and ensure high-quality garment production. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in garment construction, alterations, pattern understanding, and supervising tailoring activities.

The Master Tailor will be responsible for executing and supervising stitching work, ensuring proper fitting, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the production team in delivering garments that meet client specifications. The role requires attention to detail, technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently under production timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Tailoring and Garment Construction

• Perform advanced tailoring, stitching, and garment assembly for various types of clothing, including uniforms and custom garments.
• Interpret patterns, measurements, and design specifications accurately.
• Ensure proper fitting, finishing, and overall garment quality.
• Handle alterations and adjustments as required.

Production Support

• Assist the production team in meeting daily and monthly production targets.
• Ensure efficient workflow in stitching and tailoring sections.
• Support sample development and prototype creation when required.
• Maintain consistency in garment construction and finishing standards.

Quality Control

• Inspect garments during and after stitching to ensure quality standards are met.
• Identify defects and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all garments meet company and client specifications before delivery.

Machine Operation and Maintenance

• Operate industrial sewing machines and related tailoring equipment.
• Ensure proper handling and basic maintenance of machines.
• Report any technical issues or machine malfunctions.

Team Coordination

• Support and guide junior tailors and helpers when required.
• Coordinate with supervisors and production staff for smooth operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

• Formal training or certification in tailoring or garment construction is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a tailor, preferably in a garment factory or uniform manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience in stitching, alterations, and garment finishing.
• Experience in handling different types of fabrics and garment styles.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in garment construction, cutting, stitching, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to read and understand measurements, patterns, and specifications.
• Skilled in operating industrial sewing machines.

• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure in a production environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Additional Requirements

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: Up to QAR 2,000 per month
• Monthly performance-based bonus
• Benefits as per Qatar Labor Law
