Job Purpose

The Material Controller is responsible for managing all material-related activities for project execution, including receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and tracking materials. The role ensures that all project materials are controlled efficiently, recorded accurately, and available as per project schedules and ADNOC standards.

Key Responsibilities

Material Management & Control

  • Manage the receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials for Mechanical, Piping, Structural, and related Oil & Gas equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or material management systems.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and construction teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Conduct physical verification of materials and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and identification of all project materials.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain material receiving reports (MRR), inspection reports, material issue vouchers, and stock reports.
  • Track and update material status, shortages, and surplus regularly.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with ADNOC project requirements.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics, QA/QC, and site teams for smooth material handling and planning.
  • Support project planning and control teams with accurate material status for scheduling purposes.
  • Handle material return, transfer, and disposal processes as per project procedures.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all material handling and storage activities comply with project safety, quality, and ADNOC standards.
  • Follow HSE procedures during lifting, handling, and storing of project materials.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in material control, inventory management, or warehouse operations in the Oil & Gas industry (Mechanical and related equipment handling).
  • ADNOC project experience is mandatory / highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of material management processes, codes, and standards relevant to Oil & Gas projects.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Excel, and material tracking tools.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced project environments and remote site locations.
