Materials Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Qualification and Work Experience:

• Engineering – Polymer, Chemical
• Around 1 year of experience in working with Adhesives and sealants, fabric testing, plastics and rubber testing per ASTM standards.

Job Requirements:

• Basic data entry skills (MS office) required.
• Able to read and understand specification/ Test Methods/ Drawings/ Work instructions/Standard Job Instructions and follow without deviation.
• Attention to details required.
• Awareness of environment, health and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Planning of sample preparation and testing activities on a daily basis.
• Shall co-ordinate with test lab for completion of test as per plan.
• Test data collection from different stakeholders.
• Should be able to work on the test result compilation
• Should be able to perform the test per SOP.
• Lab management shall include the management of samples/ materials as per the life cycle procedures.
• Shall abide to EHS guidelines,
• Shall work with logistics for sample movement within the Collins labs and external labs.
• Shall work with departmental heads for Material approval.
• Support in Mechanical testing activities in Universal testing Machine, flame chamber, etc.
• Conduct regular maintenance on test equipment’s and tools, maintain clean work space, cleanliness and organization is maintained.
• Maintain stock of supplies and materials for prototype/ test set-up and follow safety procedure.
• Must be able to follow directions and follow procedures without deviations.
