Position- Material Manager
Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Supplier Management
- Lead procurement activities for raw materials, consumables, and project-specific items used in fabrication.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships, including approved vendor lists.
- Ensure procurement aligns with project schedules, engineering requirements, and client specifications.
- Oversee purchase orders, expediting activities, and supplier performance metrics.
- Mitigate supply chain risks, including long lead materials, shortages, and market volatility.
2. Inventory & Stores Management
- Oversee warehouse and stores operations, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, handling, and issuance of materials.
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems ensuring accuracy, traceability, and availability.
- Establish and monitor min/max levels, reorder points, and cycle counting processes.
- Lead global sourcing strategies for high-turnover items to reduce procurement and inventory costs.
- Ensure proper identification, preservation, and segregation of materials as per project and quality requirements.
- Improve material flow, layout, and storage space utilization.
3. Planning & Production Support
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Project teams to align material availability with fabrication schedules.
- Support project kick-offs through material take-offs, procurement plans, and delivery schedules.
- Track and report material status for active projects, identifying risks and recommending mitigation actions.
- Ensure materials are issued to production in the correct sequence and condition to prevent delays.
4. Compliance, Quality & Safety
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and internal quality systems.
- Maintain full material traceability (e.g., heat numbers, MTCs, documentation).
- Ensure all stores and procurement processes meet HSE and company policy requirements.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and client reviews related to materials management.
5. Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop procurement and stores teams.
- Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, improve accuracy, and enhance service levels.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives.
- Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain within energy fabrication, EPC, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication materials (e.g., steel, piping, fittings, valves, consumables).
- Proven experience in managing inventory and warehouse/stores operations.
- Experience working in project-based environments with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and modern inventory control tools.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED12.00 - AED18.00 per month
