About the Role

A small to mid-size manufacturer is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Materials Manager & Inventory Control Specialist to oversee the planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies across our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials management, inventory optimization, and supply chain efficiency, with the ability to balance cost control and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement materials management strategies to ensure the timely and efficient supply of goods and materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through forecasting, cycle counting, and demand planning.
• Monitor and analyze inventory data to identify trends, shortages, and excesses; recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Manage purchasing processes, vendor relationships, and supplier performance.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, logistics, and finance to align materials planning with operational goals.
• Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and distribution of materials.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce waste, lower costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.
• Train and mentor warehouse and inventory personnel in best practices for materials handling and control.
• Working with our outside processing vendors.

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

• Team Player

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
