Materials Planner/Buyer

We are excited to announce the opening of our new Facility in Mesa, Arizona in 2026. As part of this expansion in the US, TRL US is seeking a qualified Materials Planner / Buyer to join its team in Mesa.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Materials Planner / Buyer is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of materials required to support production schedules at our Mesa greenfield facility.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of operating as the single point of contact (POC) for materials planning, supplier coordination, and demand execution in a fast-paced, build-to-order environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Production & Material Planning

  • Analyze customer demand and translate it into a feasible daily/weekly production plan
  • Run and maintain MRP requirements in ERP (Odoo)
  • Generate and manage Clean-to-Build (CTB) reports
  • Identify material shortages and proactively manage risk to production
  • Align production schedules with capacity, labor, and material availability

2. Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Purchase production materials and MRO items, including:
  • Metal sheet enclosures
  • Cables, harnesses, and wire
  • Mechanical components
  • Consumables (screws, nuts, bolts, etc.)

· Manage the procurement of MRO supplies (tools, safety gear, spare parts) to ensure facility uptime.

· Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms with suppliers to drive cost savings.

  • Manage supplier relationships, pricing, and delivery performance
  • Track open orders and ensure on-time delivery
  • Support RFQs and quoting for new or revised parts

3. Supply Chain Coordination

  • Act as the primary liaison with suppliers and customer on material status
  • Partner cross-functionally with: Production Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, Engineering Team, and Customer representatives
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and work with the warehouse team on cycle counting
  • Work closely with engineering on: Design changes (ECOs/ECNs) and new part introduction

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • 3–5+ years of experience in purchasing, materials planning, and production planning within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Odoo preferred) and advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
  • Experience in BOM structures and demand planning
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams on design changes
  • Ability to manage suppliers, quoting, and procurement processes
  • Strong communication skills (internal + customer-facing)

Preferred

  • Experience in electrical assemblies, control panels, or similar products
  • Experience in low mix / high volume manufacturing
  • Familiarity with sheet metal, wiring, harnesses, and mechanical components
  • Experience in a greenfield or startup operation
