Summary / Objective:
The Media Planner & Strategist is responsible for developing and executing full-funnel media strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and revenue for the Angel Guild. This role owns media strategy end-to-end: from audience research and channel selection, to purchasing and negotiating media, managing agency partners, and measuring campaign results against business goals. The ideal candidate brings both strategic thinking and hands-on media experience, and thrives in a fast-paced studio environment.

- When faced with roadblocks, mistakes or unforeseen circumstances, consistently and proactively find creative solutions and/or break down barriers to handle the challenge or complication. - Develop comprehensive media strategies from concept to execution, including audience research, channel selection, flighting, and budget allocation
- Build strategies and campaigns that deepen fan connection, and identifying new growth levers - from traditional marketing funnels to innovative concepts like bonus content, easter eggs, and interactive experiences
- Research products, audiences, and competitive landscape to inform media planning decisions and spending recommendations
- Manage end-to-end campaign execution across digital, social, programmatic, OOH, CTV/OTT, streaming, print, and other paid channels
- Oversee and manage relationships with external media agencies, holding partners accountable to performance benchmarks and strategic goals
- Analyze campaign analytics and performance data; generate reports and optimization recommendations for leadership and stakeholders
- Integrate into existing marketing systems and tools to enhance workflows, reporting accuracy, and forecasting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, digital, and brand teams to align media strategy with broader campaign objectives
- Manage media budgets across all campaigns, tracking spend before, during, and after each campaign to ensure proper use of funds and strong return on investment.
- Present executive-level media strategies and campaign recaps to senior leadership and internal stakeholders
- Stay current on emerging media platforms, tools, and industry trends to bring innovative tactics to the team

- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into effective media plans
- Deep knowledge of paid media channels including digital display, video, social, programmatic, audio, OOH, and broadcast
- Proficiency in media analytics platforms and the ability to derive actionable insights from data
- Experience managing agency relationships and holding external partners to deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership
- Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative team player with a passion for film, TV, and storytelling
- Ability to take individual ownership, execute with high energy, share context, and insist on candor with positive intent
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in the English language required. Spanish or Portuguese is a plus, but not required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in media planning, media strategy, or a related marketing role
- Proven track record building and executing multi-channel paid media campaigns from start to finish
- Hands-on experience with media buying across digital, social, and traditional channels
- Experience managing agency partnerships and campaign analytics
- Strong proficiency in media analytics tools and platforms
- Experience managing media budgets and tracking spend against KPIs
- 5+ years of media strategy or media management experience, ideally within entertainment, studios, or streaming
- Knowledge of film, television, or digital content industries is strongly preferred
- Experience with programmatic advertising platforms and DSPs
- Familiarity with agentic AI tools applied to media workflows, forecasting, or analytics
- Experience with platforms such as Monday.com, Claude, Meta, Google, TikTok ad managers
Commensurate with experience and scope of responsibilities
Work environment - When in the main office, expect a comfortable, air-conditioned work environment. Team members are issued their own desks, but the office is an open, shared space and can be fast-paced and occasionally noisy.
Physical demands - Will need to be able to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods of time.
Position type and expected hours of work - Regular full-time, 40 hours per week.
Travel required - Must be willing and able to travel out-of-state and internationally if needed.
Work authorization - Must be authorized to work in the United States.
