The Grade 3 Math & Science Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned with NGIS academic standards. The teacher ensures that students build strong foundational skills in numeracy, scientific inquiry, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The role includes planning engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and creating a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Instruction & Classroom Teaching
- Teach Grade 3 Math and Science following the school’s curriculum (typically U.S./Common Core–aligned for Math and NGSS-inspired for Science).
- Use student-centered approaches including hands-on activities, experiments, manipulatives, and differentiated instruction.
- Integrate technology where appropriate (interactive boards, educational apps, digital resources).
2. Lesson Planning & Curriculum Delivery
- Prepare weekly lesson plans, learning objectives, and assessments aligned with NGIS standards.
- Design activities that promote inquiry, exploration, and real-world application of Math and Science concepts.
- Modify instruction for diverse learners, including enrichment and remediation activities.
3. Assessment & Reporting
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments.
- Track and document student progress using school systems.
- Prepare report cards, progress reports, and performance feedback.
- Communicate academic progress to parents through meetings, conferences, and digital communication platforms.
4. Classroom Management
- Maintain a safe, structured, and motivating learning environment.
- Implement the school’s behavior expectations and classroom management policies.
- Use positive reinforcement and conflict-resolution strategies.
5. Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work collaboratively with grade-level teams, department heads, and coordinators.
- Participate in professional development, training, and school events.
- Contribute to curriculum reviews, school improvement plans, and academic initiatives.
6. Parent & Community Engagement
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents.
- Participate in school functions such as Parent-Teacher Conferences, Open House, and student activities.
- Foster strong relationships with students and families to support learning.
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Math Education, Science Education, or a relevant field.
- Teaching diploma or professional teaching certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience in elementary-level Math/Science (international or American curriculum is an advantage).
- Experience in inquiry-based and hands-on learning environments.
