The MYP Physics Teacher will be responsible for guiding students aged 13–15 through a deep and conceptual understanding of physical sciences in alignment with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework. The teacher will design inquiry-driven lessons that connect theory to real-world applications and encourage critical thinking, investigation, and reflection. Through experimentation and collaboration, the teacher will help students appreciate how physics explains the natural world and drives innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

        • Plan and deliver concept-based, inquiry-driven Physics lessons aligned with MYP 4 objectives.

        • Integrate global contexts, Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, and interdisciplinary links into units.

        • Guide students in scientific investigations and data analysis using appropriate tools and methods.

        • Assess student work using MYP criteria and provide timely, constructive feedback.

        • Support students in developing conceptual understanding through reflection and application.

        • Maintain a safe and organized learning environment and ensure proper lab safety procedures.

        • Collaborate with the Science team to align assessment practices and ensure vertical curriculum coherence.

        • Engage in continuous professional learning and contribute to the school’s MYP development.

Requirements

Education

    • A relevant bachelor’s degree. Engineering is preferred.
    • CAT1 Certificate in Science is a plus

Experience

    • 3+ Years experience teaching Physics at the secondary school level.

    • 1+ Years experience teaching Science or Biology at the MYP

Skills and Abilities

      • Deep understanding of the MYP philosophy and assessment approach.

      • Strong command of Physics concepts with the ability to make them engaging and relevant.

      • Effective classroom management and collaborative teaching skills.

      • Commitment to student-centered, reflective, and inclusive learning.

      • Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning tools.
