Job Description: Maths Teacher – Grade 6

Position: Maths Teacher
Department: Academics
Grade: 6
Reporting to: Coordinator / Principal

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Mathematics to Grade 6 students as per the prescribed curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and worksheets aligned with learning objectives.
• Conduct interactive, activity-based, and concept-focused teaching.
• Evaluate students through class tests, assignments, projects, and periodic assessments.
• Maintain student academic records, progress reports, and attendance.
• Provide additional support/remedial classes to students who need help.
• Create a positive, disciplined, and engaging classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and behaviour.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, school events, and academic planning.
• Ensure timely completion of syllabus and adherence to school policies.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong subject knowledge of Mathematics (NCERT/Board-specific syllabus).
• Good communication and classroom-management skills.
• Ability to explain concepts in simple, student-friendly language.
• Patience, creativity, and passion for teaching.
• Basic computer skills (for digital teaching, assessments, and report preparation).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc./B.A.) with Mathematics as a major subject.
• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
• Prior teaching experience at middle school level (preferred).

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
