More about the role

This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a MEA Customs Manager in Cairo, Egypt with Signify.

As a key member of the EMEA Trade & Customs department, this role drives Customs and Trade Compliance excellence across the Middle East & Africa to support seamless business execution.

Monitor MEA Customs Compliance

  • HS classification: support HS code determination for the region and audit correct use at clearance. Drive process enhancement with all stakeholders.
  • Customs brokerage: manage the customs brokerage regional network with support of logistics teams. Guarantee performance and compliance of brokerage via strong post-entry auditing and business reviews.
  • Audits: be the primary point of contact in case of customs authorities’ audit across the region.
  • Origin: ensure compliant use of Free Trade Agreement benefits by the MEA entities.
  • Export control: implement in the region the guidelines the Global Export Control & Sanctions Manager
  • Procedures: ensure the documentation of necessary procedures to guarantee the compliance of customs operations. Alignment with key stakeholders on key trade compliance related processes and procedures and continues monitoring business awareness and compliance.

Support MEA organization customs needs

Provide regional customs legislation mastery to support business and logistics teams:

  • Authorization and customs facilitation: ensure manufacturing plants and commercial entities can enjoy the latest facilitations allowed by local regulations.
  • Special flows: support local organizations with their customs-related needs for samples, returns, etc.
  • Flow engineering: participate in flows setup with other stakeholders of the company, advising on customs prerequisites.
  • Direct flows initiative: providing customs knowledge and support where needed.

Duty reliefs

  • Free Trade Agreements: drive initiative for import duty savings in compliance with regulation. Export: enhance product eligibility to FTA in collaboration with procurement and plant management.
  • Customs regimes: assess any possibility of duty optimization for manufacturing plants and distribution centers by leveraging customs regimes use (bonded warehouse, productive regimes, inward/outward processing).

Reporting & finance needs

  • Reporting: guarantee the collection of comprehensive duty reporting from brokers, enabling product-based analysis.
  • Finance needs: ensure proper reporting to finance to enable monitoring of duty and brokerage associated costs.

More about you

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a customs department.
  • Advanced data analysis skills to support reporting and duty optimization
  • Communication skills and ability to partner with many departments within the company but also to communicate with customs authorities.
  • English and Arabic are a must.
