Job Purpose

Responsible for maintenance and repair of all production equipment and installations to ensure proper upkeep of production installations.

Job Details

Job Title: Mechanical Technician
Reports to: Mechanical Section Head
Sector: Supply Chain
Business Unit: Frozen Solution

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure that all safety, environmental, and quality instructions set by company management are respected.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as per description sheet and according to master schedule.
  • Perform troubleshooting and breakdown repairs to production machines.
  • Fully follow up and monitor production equipment throughout production time.
  • Care with work quality as per company standard.
  • Fully respect and carefully record all daily, weekly, monthly checklists set by section head.
  • Ensure that all safety and protection devices of all equipment are in place and operational.
  • Record daily shift condition in the logbook.
  • Ensure proper usage and arrangement of all documents (manuals, diagrams, datasheets) as well as mechanical tools and measurement and calibration tools.
  • Follow up cleaning and arrangement of the mechanical maintenance workshop.
  • Take responsibility for and ownership of problems until they are solved.
  • Report to supervisor any unusual issues that might affect performance of the operation.
  • Coordinate with various departments for proper scheduling of maintenance activities to support efficient factory operation.
  • Actively support all management programs in Continuous Improvement, regular audits and improvement team formation.
  • Render other duties as may be required by superiors.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Academic and Professional Qualifications
  • Advanced intermediate or intermediate diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in the field of mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing facility.
  • Process industry maintenance, line and non line management.
Performance Measures
  • Health and safety regulations: Ensure following all health and safety regulations.
  • Mechanical maintenance workshop: Ensure daily cleaning and maintenance for mechanical workshop.
  • Reports: Ensure preparation of daily reports to the section head.
