Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and experience in diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, as well as the ability to work with both hand and power tools. The Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards, providing excellent service to our customers.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on various vehicles including tractors, excavators, cranes, and farm machinery.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire service, and alignment.
- Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform necessary repairs.
- Operate heavy equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Fabricate parts as needed for repairs using welding techniques and hand tools.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Dealership experience is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation, including familiarity with Caterpillar machinery and forklift operation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge covering transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, and assembly tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical systems.
- Experience with industrial equipment repair is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective customer interaction.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with the job.
