Mechanic

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with automotive and industrial equipment. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Duties

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including cars, trucks, and heavy machinery.
• Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify mechanical issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
• Repair and maintain various systems including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension, HVAC, and diesel engines.
• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery safely and efficiently.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools for assembly and repair tasks.
• Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Fabricate parts as needed using welding techniques.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanic experience is required; dealership experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in automotive repair including brake repair, tire service, shocks & struts, and alignment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and vehicle maintenance.
• Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and the ability to lift heavy objects safely.
• Electrical experience is preferred; soldering skills are a plus.
• Ability to work with various types of machinery including tractor-trailers and industrial equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
