Job Duties

• Complete work orders at the direction of the Supervisor or Dispatcher with ability to work with little or no assistance from other staff members if required.
• Able to communicate with customers informing of status of work orders and issues pertaining to their respective departments.
• Complete preventive maintenance procedures accurately and timely in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and regulations.
• Have a good knowledge and understanding of mechanical/building systems to ensure ability to resolve issues.
• Be assigned for professional pathway for certification, license, or equivalency (validated years or experience) in Electrical, Plumbing/Boilers, Mechanical/HVAC/Chilled Water systems, or Life Safety Maintenance trade areas.
• Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

• Ability to use email and web-based software
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Demonstrated proficiency at a basic level.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of building systems.

Professional Experience

• Experience in facility maintenance or construction is preferred.

Education

• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.

Licensure, Certification, Registration

• Must have Valid Driver’s License
• Must provide and maintain a good driving record, documented at hire by a copy of official driving record from the Iowa DOT.
