Mechanical BIM Engineer

Requirements:

• Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop BIM models for MEP services from design stage (LOD 300) to as-built (LOD 500) stage and coordinate between all other services.

Skills:

• Min 2 years of experience in BIM modeling within the AEC or MEP industry
• Hands-on experience with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks Manage
• Knowledge of BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Preferred – Experience in Gulf Project.
• Develop comprehensive, standalone BIM models for mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC,) to ensure full-system accuracy, clash-free coordination, and seamless integration with architectural/structural disciplines.
• Follow BIM Manual/project standards for compliant modeling, deliverables, and collaboration.
• Experience in clash detection, coordination, and resolving MEP clashes.
• Knowledge of MEP codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA).
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Fluent English communication for seamless collaboration.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
• Possess strong initiative, and ability to work independently and within team environment when required

Preferred Skills (Optional):

• Experience with Dynamo scripting for automation in Revit.
• Knowledge of LOD 300-500 modeling for construction and facility management.
• Familiarity with BIM 360, and other BIM-related software.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Duct size and pipe sizing calculations.
• Ability to generate various Mechanical layouts, sections, elevations and details Clash detection and co-ordination using Navisworks
• Responsible for assisting the BIM leads and Senior BIM Modelers.
• Responsible for the quality and quantity of work done.
• Report to the Senior BIM Modelers and BIM leads.
• Ensure proper file management, version control, and documentation as per BIM execution plans.
• Raise potential issues in project then and there to the Senior BIM Modelers and BIM leads.
• Direct responsibilities given during the course of time by managers.
• Extract BOQ from the REVIT file.
• Extract and update 2D drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings from BIM models.
• Assist in creating BIM families, templates, and parametric models for mechanical components.
• Knowledge of Air Outlet Selection, Equipment, Fittings, Pumps, Supports, and Valves
• Incorporate design changes, RFIs, and submittals into the plumbing model.
