Mechanical Design Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare mechanical designs, equipment specifications, and technical drawings for oil & gas facilities.
• Provide technical support for rotating and static equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, pipelines, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, etc.).
• Work closely with process, electrical, instrumentation, and civil engineers. Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations for project stakeholders.
• Supervise fabrication, welding, and erection of piping and mechanical systems.
• Ensure proper installation of rotating/static equipment at site (alignment, grouting, piping connections, etc.).
• Coordinate with QA/QC to ensure material traceability, welding inspection, hydrotesting, and NDT compliance.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is executed as per project specifications and schedules.
• Resolve technical site issues and provide engineering clarifications (TQs/RFIs).
• Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance plans to maximize equipment reliability.
• Ensure spare parts management and vendor coordination for critical equipment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications: Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of work experience in upstream Oil and Gas Industry preferably in the Middle East.

Note: Flexibility to travel to Iraq is mandatory for this role
