Key Responsibilities
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to ensure proper execution of mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, drainage, piping, etc.).
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems at site.
- Monitor daily site activities, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical/site issues.
- Prepare and review method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections and prepare site progress reports.
- Manage resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment, for efficient project delivery.
- Assist in preparing BOQs, cost estimates, and supporting procurement of mechanical materials.
- Verify and certify subcontractor works and progress claims.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems during construction.
- Support final testing, commissioning, and handover of completed mechanical works.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience (3–8 years typically) in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems.
- Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, ASME, etc.).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office; knowledge of project management software is a plus.
- Strong leadership and site supervision skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
