Position Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting Remote contract Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop material models and support novel analysis methodologies in the Mechanical Design discipline
• Generate basic sizing calculations for reactor components
• Perform mechanical analyses using the finite element method with commercial codes
• Study ASME BPVC Section III, Division 5
• Conduct technical reviews of the Company and supplier designs and deliverables.
  
  
  

Job Qualifications:

• B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline from an accredited university and 4+ years of relevant experience, or M.S. in Mechanical or related discipline with 2+ years of experience
• Engineer in training (EIT) or licensed PE desired
• Recent experience with mechanical analysis software (ANSYS preferred)
• Recent experience with scripting software (Python and ANSYS APDL preferred)
• Familiar with material failure mechanisms and the application of design standards and codes
• Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
• Demonstrated hardware ownership
• Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence
• Strong communication skills desired
• The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and have a desire to foster teamwork
• Actual position, starting level, and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications

• Job Type: Contract
• Pay Rate Range: $52-$85/hr.
• Location: 100% Remote Acceptable
