Responsibilities:
- Review mechanical design submissions including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, fuel systems, and medical gas systems (if applicable).
- Verify heat load calculations, ventilation requirements, duct sizing, pipe sizing, pump head calculations, and equipment selections.
- Assess the mechanical design for compliance with project specifications, codes, and authority regulations.
- Review material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate with architectural, electrical, civil, and ICT teams to resolve design conflicts and ensure smooth integration of mechanical systems.
- Review fire protection system designs including sprinkler layouts, hydrant systems, fire pumps, and compliance with NFPA standards.
- Conduct constructability reviews and provide recommendations for design improvements.
- Participate in value engineering studies to optimize system performance and cost.
- Support design review meetings, track comments, and ensure timely resolution.
- Inspect mechanical installations to verify alignment with approved designs and quality standards.
- Review testing and commissioning plans and support system performance verification.
- Evaluate equipment room layouts, mechanical shafts, and routing for maintainability and safety.
- Prepare technical reports, design review assessments, and compliance summaries.
- Verify BOQs, technical specifications, and detailed design documents.
- Coordinate with facility management teams to ensure the mechanical design supports long-term operations and maintenance needs.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 12+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally on institutional or government projects.
- Strong technical background in HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical infrastructure systems.
- Solid understanding of international standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, and SMACNA.
- Experience with PMC teams and design review procedures.
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
