- Ensure product designs meet customer requirements, functional performance, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Create 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and exploded views using Catia, SolidWorks, or other CAD tools.
- Apply GD&T and ISO-based tolerancing, surface finishes, and material specifications.
- Design support for existing products and design optimization for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
2. New Product Development (NPD)
- Lead or participate in the development of new valve and actuator products from concept to release.
- Conduct DFMEA, design reviews, and prototype testing aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 practices.
- Coordinate with quality, production, procurement, and marketing during product development stages.
- Document technical design files, validation plans, and qualification test records.
3. Engineering Documentation & Standards
- Develop and maintain ISO-compliant:
- General Arrangement Drawings (GADs)
- Assembly and part drawings
- BOMs and revision-controlled documents
- Interpret and implement international standards such as:
- ISO 5211 – Actuator mounting interface
- ISO 5208 – Valve pressure testing
- ISO 10497 – Fire test for valves
- ASME B16.34, API 6D – Valve design & pressure integrity
4. Technical Support to All Departments
- Support production, quality control, sourcing, and sales with design-related inputs.
- Review customer datasheets, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Participate in troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in internal and external ISO audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Propose design improvements, value engineering, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Stay updated on revisions of ISO, ASME, and API standards and modify design processes accordingly.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Expertise in pneumatic actuator sizing, valve design, and sealing technologies.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software like Catia, SolidWorks, and 2D tools like AutoCAD.
- Strong grasp of GD&T, engineering concepts, and drawing interpretation.
- Knowledge of ISO and ASME design/testing standards.
- Familiar with QMS practices, especially ISO 9001.
- Strong communication, teamwork, time management, and a disciplined approach to engineering tasks.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 1–7 years of experience in mechanical design related to valves and actuators.
- Preferred experience in:
- ISO 5211 actuator interface
- ISO 5208 seat testing
- NPD under ISO 9001 guidelines
Desirable (Optional):
- Knowledge of ERP/PLM systems (SAP, Windchill, etc.).
- Experience with FEA/CFD tools like ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation.
- Exposure to automation standards (IEC 61508, ISO 1219) for actuator/valve systems.
