Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our engineering and product development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and refining mobility solutions, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and user-friendly. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical expertise, and an understanding of user needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D mechanical designs for new and existing mobility products (wheelchairs, lifts, ramps, vehicle modifications, etc.).
• Collaborate with the R&D and production teams to ensure feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability of designs.
• Create detailed technical drawings, CAD models, and specifications.
• Conduct design reviews, testing, and prototyping to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Modify and improve existing products based on client feedback and technological advancements.
• Work closely with suppliers and fabricators to source suitable materials and components.
• Maintain accurate records of design iterations, test results, and compliance documentation.
• Stay updated on mobility product trends, mechanical innovations, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer or in a similar role, preferably within the mobility or medical devices industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar).
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements related to mobility products is an advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
