Mechanical Designer - Appleton, WI

GS Engineering is seeking talented and motivated Mechanical Designers to support our Client in the aircraft completions industry on-site at their facility in Appleton, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of modeling practices and have experience in the development of 3D CAD models and 2D drawing packages (preferably Catia and AutoCAD). This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure project deadlines are met.

Responsibilities:

• Create and modify 3D models (CATIA) and 2D drawings (AutoCAD) utilizing industry standard modeling practices.

• Understand and manage indented Bill of Materials (BOMs) and revision control processes.

• Interpret and adhere to Client design practices and standards.

• Incorporate required modeling changes in a fast-paced environment to support production needs.

• Collaborate with Aircraft Leads to ensure task and release workflow requirements are met.

• Communicate potential risks associated with meeting task deadlines.

• Work closely with shop floor and operations personnel to address and resolve build challenges.

Qualifications / Attributes:

• Associate’s degree in engineering technology or related technical field required, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience with CAD software packages required.

• • Experience with CATIA and AutoCAD preferred.
• Must demonstrate enthusiasm for excellence in technical execution and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident able to obtain a security clearance from the Department of Defense upon hiring.
