Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the installation and construction of mechanical systems of the project. Duties include the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems, preparing detailed mechanical designs, conducting calculations and simulations, reviewing technical drawings, ensuring compliance with building codes and standards, and supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems on-site. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of mechanical systems and construction methods, ensuring that all project works are completed accurately, safely, and on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the construction industry, preferably in oil and gas or infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in mechanical system design, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, calculations, simulations, and technical drawings; experienced with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
• Must have valid residency in Kuwait.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical System Design: Develop comprehensive designs for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building mechanical systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and function efficiently.
• Calculations and Simulations: Perform detailed engineering calculations, load analyses, and system simulations to validate design performance and optimize system efficiency.
• Technical Drawing and Documentation: Prepare, review, and maintain detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics, ensuring alignment with project objectives and design standards.
• Project Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other disciplines to integrate mechanical systems, provide technical input, and support project scheduling and resource planning.
• Installation Oversight: Supervise the on-site installation of mechanical systems, coordinate with contractors and technical teams, and ensure proper implementation according to designs and specifications.
• Testing and Commissioning: Conduct inspections, functional tests, and performance evaluations of mechanical systems, approving commissioning once operational requirements are met.
