Mechanical Engineer – Estimation & Pricing

Experience Required:
5–7 years of experience in estimation and pricing for mechanical works, including HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Firefighting systems, preferably within construction or infrastructure projects.

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer specialized in estimation and cost analysis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing technical and tender documents, analyzing project requirements, and obtaining competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities & Expertise:

• Estimation & Costing: Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Firefighting). Review drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project requirements.
• Tender Review: Study tender documents thoroughly and identify key scope elements, risks, and clarifications needed.
• Supplier Coordination: Request, follow up, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications.
• Value Engineering: Suggest cost-effective solutions and alternative materials while maintaining quality and technical requirements.
• Quantity Takeoff: Perform accurate quantity takeoff from drawings and prepare pricing sheets for tender submissions.
• Technical & Commercial Proposals: Assist in preparing technical and commercial bid packages, ensuring timely and complete submissions.
• Market Knowledge: Maintain updated knowledge of material prices, supplier lists, and industry trends.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Tendering, Procurement, and Project Management teams during bidding and post-tender stages.
• Documentation & Reporting: Ensure proper documentation, maintain pricing records, and generate periodic reports.
• Problem Solving & Professionalism: Identify discrepancies in tender documents and propose effective solutions.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering – mandatory
• Experience in estimation within construction/MEP companies – highly preferred
• Knowledge of pricing tools and estimation software – preferred
• Bilingual (English & Arabic) – preferred
