1. Job Purpose
To ensure the efficient operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of all mechanical systems, production machinery, and equipment in the precast concrete factory. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment optimization, and supporting production to meet operational and quality targets.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment such as batching plants, concrete mixers, hydraulic systems, molds, cranes, lifting equipment, and production line machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and update maintenance logs, failure reports, and spare parts stock lists.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices.
B. Production Support
- Provide technical support to the production team for machinery setup, alignment, calibration, and performance optimization.
- Monitor equipment effectiveness (OEE) and coordinate with production to resolve mechanical issues promptly.
- Participate in root-cause analysis for production incidents and propose improvement actions.
C. Installation & Commissioning
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery, molds, and mechanical systems in the precast production line.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, equipment specifications, and technical drawings.
D. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with industry safety standards and internal HSE policies.
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments for equipment and mechanical activities.
- Train technicians and operators on safe operation and routine maintenance procedures.
E. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, process efficiency, and energy consumption.
- Implement Lean/Kaizen activities related to mechanical operations.
- Optimize maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
3. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–7 years of experience in industrial maintenance; experience in precast, concrete, heavy machinery, or manufacturing plants preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, welding, and fabrication.
- Familiar with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
4. Skills & Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Expertise in mechanical repair and preventive maintenance.
- Good understanding of precast production processes.
- Knowledge of safety standards and risk management.
- Strong communication and team coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced industrial environment.
