Mechanical Engineer (R&D)

Our company is the sister firm of IZHAR construction company Pvt Ltd. Accurate Pvt, Ltd (Digital Meters Manufacturing firm) is seeking a full-time on-site Mechanical Engineer (R&D) to join our team at Sundar Estates (Accurate Factory)

Key Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Engineer (R&D) will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing the structural components of energy meters in accordance with WAPDA specifications and international standards. The role involves creating robust, reliable, and manufacturable mechanical designs, performing structural and environmental tests, and collaborating with the development team to mature the product from concept to final production stage.

1. Structural Design & Development

• Design and improve the mechanical structure of energy meters to meet WAPDA and international standards
• Develop 3D models, engineering drawings, and detailed design specifications using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Select appropriate materials and components to ensure durability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Work with tooling, molding, and vendor teams to ensure manufacturable designs.

2. Testing & Validation

• Conduct mechanical and environmental tests
• Evaluate enclosure strength, ingress protection (IP rating), mechanical durability, and structural stability.
• Ensure meter enclosures comply with required safety, protection, and environmental standards.

3. Compliance With Standards

• Ensure all mechanical designs meet WAPDA requirements and international standards
• Prepare compliance documentation, test reports, and design validation summaries.
• Support the certification and type approval processes.

4. Collaboration & Product Maturation

• Work closely with electrical, firmware, QA, and production teams to support full product development.
• Participate in design review meetings and provide mechanical engineering insights.
• Resolve structural or mechanical issues identified during testing, prototyping, or production.
• Support prototyping, sample preparation, and pilot production runs.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate design records, test logs, and engineering documentation.
• Prepare test reports, drawings, BOMs, change requests, and technical files.
• Provide design modifications and improvement proposals.

6. Lab & Equipment Handling

• Operate mechanical testing equipment and environmental chambers.
• Ensure testing instruments are calibrated, functional, and used per safety guidelines.
• Maintain an organized mechanical testing lab environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./BS).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, material selection, and environmental/structural testing.
• Hands-on experience with CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD).
