Job Description – Mechanical Engineer (Sponge Division)

Salary: ₹50,000 per month
Experience: 3+ Years
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. – Mechanical Engineering

Sponge Iron / Steel / Mechanical Maintenance / Project / Utilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for operation and maintenance of rotary and static equipment in Sponge Iron / Mechanical division.
• Handle preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Supervise fabrication, erection, alignment, and welding jobs.
• Maintenance of pumps, compressors, blowers, gearboxes, valves, and heat exchangers.
• Ensure equipment reliability and minimum downtime through proactive maintenance.
• Coordinate with the production and electrical departments for smooth plant operation.
• Maintain maintenance records, logbooks, and daily checklists.
• Ensure safety compliance and adherence to plant SOPs.
• Support shutdown and project activities related to plant expansion or modification.
• Manage spares inventory and raise indents / PRs for required materials.

Skills Required:

• Hands-on experience in rotary equipment maintenance (pump, blower, compressor).
• Good knowledge of fabrication and piping work.
• Understanding of plant utilities and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office / SAP (MM or PM module preferred).
• Strong team coordination, safety awareness, and troubleshooting ability.
