Position Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer – Technical Office is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating mechanical shop drawings and technical documentation related to HVAC, firefighting, and plumbing systems. The role ensures that all mechanical works are accurately detailed, coordinated with other disciplines, and aligned with project specifications, codes, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and develop shop drawings for mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting) based on IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings.
Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure proper integration.
Prepare and submit builder’s work drawings , as-built drawings , and coordination layouts .
Review project specifications and ensure compliance with design intent, local regulations, and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA).
Conduct site surveys and take measurements as needed to reflect accurate conditions in shop drawings.
Liaise with procurement and site teams to provide technical support related to material submittals and equipment installation.
Participate in coordination meetings with consultants, main contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design and drawing-related issues.
Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, and support estimation or variation claims as needed.
Follow up on shop drawing approvals and manage documentation tracking for submittals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in construction projects .
Proficient in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, etc.).
Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills .
Strong communication, leadership , and project management abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
