About the role

The Mechanical repair and operation of various machine tools, to manufacture and repair in mechanical rotating machinery and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and foot protection);

• Disassemble mechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration, and condition aligned with QA procedures.

• Balance mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment.

• Carry out Mechanical repairs to Shafts, Journals and Housings as required.

• Read job cards to determine job status, work authorizations / limitations, estimate, description of problems, and or expected serviceability.

• Measure for or note proper replacement parts. Correctly requisition needed items from stores/purchasing, as approved by Supervisor.

• Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical assemblies including: shafts, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, fans, bearing fits.

• Lift, tighten, adjust and / or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties.

• Clean mechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including: parts, washers, steamers, caustic tanks, grit blasters, etc.;

• Understanding and commitment to adhering to operating in alignment with company values, safety; and quality procedures/policies.

Role Requirements

• Experience in Mechanical fitting large equipment i.e., pumps, fans, gear boxes and turbines;

• Drivers License

• Forklift

• Dogger - Advantage

Skillset required:
Basic mechanical and technical skills.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Familiarity with safety and quality procedures.
Willingness to learn and grow in a manufacturing environment.
