Key Responsibilities:
1. Shift Supervision & Team Leadership
- Lead a team of Mechanical Technicians and Fitters during the shift.
- Assign maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion with quality workmanship.
- Provide hands-on technical support during critical breakdowns.
- Conduct shift briefings, manage shift handovers, and ensure communication with production teams.
2. Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Supervise mechanical maintenance of major equipment such as extruders, spinning machines, crimpers, dryers, cutters, pumps, compressors, blowers, chillers, and utilities.
- Diagnose faults, analyze breakdown causes, and ensure permanent corrective actions.
- Ensure immediate response to equipment failures to reduce downtime.
3. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Execution
- Ensure preventive maintenance (PM) tasks are completed as per schedule.
- Validate equipment conditions during rounds—lubrication, alignment, leakages, vibration, noise, and wear.
- Support predictive maintenance activities such as vibration analysis and thermography.
4. Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
- Enforce compliance with safety protocols, including LOTO and PTW systems.
- Ensure safe working practices for the team and contractors.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in maintenance workshops and plant areas.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain shift-wise maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and job cards.
- Report equipment abnormalities and recommend improvements.
- Ensure accurate documentation of spare parts usage and maintenance activities.
6. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with the Production, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Utilities teams for maintenance planning.
- Participate in shift meetings and ensure smooth operational continuity across shifts.
- Provide feedback to management for maintenance planning, spare parts, and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: DAE Mechanical / B.Tech Mechanical (Preferred)
- Experience: 5–8 years of mechanical maintenance experience in Polyester Fiber, Chemical, Petrochemical, Textile, or Process Industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, valves, and alignment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and lead repair of critical machinery.
